Church of St. Nicholas - Amsterdam, Netherlands

This gorgeous 19c church was designed by Adrianus Bleijs using elements of Neo-Baroque and Neo-Renaissance. It was officially called "St. Nicholas inside the walls" because it is located in the oldest part of the city. It is Amsterdam's major Roman Catholic church.

I would enjoy returning and seeing more. I was there in 03 for a celebration at the Van Gogh museum.

Ah yes, one of the loveliest of cities. I've had the pleasure of visiting Amsterdam twice, but never had the chance to see the inside of this beautiful church.
Hope you enjoy a wonderful week ahead.

This church looks really lovely, and I'd love to visit Amsterdam Ann, my two youngest children's grandma is Dutch but has lived in Britain for over 40 years now.
The painting is wonderful!

(p.s.Soooo sorry that my 'code-thingy' is difficult to decipher, someone else has mentioned the same. I'm not sure what to do about that tho'. In the past I had someone leaving comments I really didn't need if you know what I mean. I probably miss a lot of nice people commenting if they too have the same difficulty that you had.
Hope your week-end has been a good one too!)

Hugs Jane
