After a Good Cleaning
Many have written and asked me about this church - wondering how it looked after receiving the "good cleaning" Rick wrote that it was getting when he visited the previous year (see the scaffolding that was in place when he visited - in the previous post).
Could a cared for ancient church be any more charming than this one sitting among the trees just below the mountain called after the Prophet Elias?

Happy Advent. I love Hazelnuts too - well all nuts really, but with my surname being Almonds, THEY are my favourites!!!

Advent, love having a calendar and the excitement building towards Christmas Day! xx
Happy Advent. I love old churches and I always like the idea of Christmas staying in the hearts of people the whole year through. I used to keep my tree up all year and just change decorations on it.
amazing !
Warm greetings Ann
I agree with you, it could not look more charming.. That is one church I would really liked to have visited in person...
Thank you for your comment and blessings.. Wishing you a lovely Advent season! Always so nice to see you have visited.

Hi Miss and and my Prince Edward!!
So good to hear from you and to see today's update.
I think your idea of a tree on the outside is purrfect. Edward can thoroughly enjoy it and not be stressed.
Happy Advent,
Madi and mom

Ann dearest, SOOOOO GOOD TO SEE YOU!!! And Edward purrrrrrrrrrred as he was sitting on your lap, looking at the pictures? I bet he was enchanted with that chubby white mouse I have on my post! teeeheeee....THAT'S IT!!!!!!!!
Oh, so good to see you. May God richly bless your heart as move into this season of many lovely distractions, but towards the core of our traditions: CHRIST.
Peace dearest, Anita
And, happy first Sunday of Advent to you, too, Ann. :)
These ancient relics in the beautiful mountainous landscape of Greece always manage to send my thought back to an earlier age. Not to show my pagan roots but somehow this one took me back to the small temple at Delphi set a valley surrounded by mountains... :)
Happy Holiday Season!
Thinking of you and yours across the miles...Stuart
Ann your comment meant so much to me tonight. Thank you! I love hearing from you. I also want to wish you a wonderful holiday season. I am so glad we met through blogging and I feel like I have traveled all over the world with you as you take us to these beautiful cathedrals, like this one in Greece.
hugs from here...
Ann - great to see an update and news that the church renovations are coming along very nicely. (unfortunately I couldn't reach Joachim's website - I kept getting an error).
I trust your Advent will be a time of building joy and peace.
Have a wonderful weekend.
Dear Ann,
thank you for visiting and your kind comment...yes, indeed the kitty looks very much like my Sammy :)
It's been a while since I last visited, and I've been browsing your older posts. I've missed Edward. How's he doing?
That little church is very charming. Glad they had funds to clean it up!
Have a wonderful weekend!
