St. Nicholas Roman Catholic Church
Palisades Park, New Jersey, USA

Located across the George Washington Bridge from New York City in Palisades Park, New Jersey this lovely church was founded in 1923.
This beautiful statue of St. Nicholas reminds all who enter the church who its Patron Saint is...
None other than Bishop Nicholas of Myra!
While this statue outside of the church...
...is a lovely reminder to all who drive or walk by.
The statue was blessed on December 6, 2009 by Bishop da Cunha. December 6th of course being the Feast Day of St. Nicholas.
Beautiful Altar...

Your movie should be arriving soon!
Another beautiful St. Nicholas Church. :) I truly enjoy your collection of them all. What a great book your posts would make.
Interesting changes from the B&W shot to now. I think there was a major amusement park in this town also.
Hi Ann it's amazing just how many churches you are discovering named 'St Nicholas'!

Lovely church, so well kept!
The statues are fab too :) xx
This one almost looks like a house - it's not ostentatious at all! Honestly I can't believe there are so many St. Nicholas churches around the world.
Plenty of snow in the days gone by.
Great captures and beautiful photos.
I love that black and white photograph, looks like taken in the early 50s.;)) Reminds me of the pictures my mom has from her late teens.;)
I will try to investigate the St. Nicolas spring at one point for you dear Ann, but unfortunately I no longer reside in that city, as I have recently moved. However I still work there so at the earliest convenience I will drive by.;)
Have a lovely week,
xoxo
Oh that is very pretty. I love brick and the white border is so pretty.
Hugs to my Edward,
The word verification today is too funny...it is 'chesmadi'...my name is at the end.

Wishing you a beautiful week.

I wish I would have known about this church when I went to visit NJ years ago! I love visiting old churches and hearing the history behind them. I also think it's so neat to be able to see old and "now" pictures of such buildings:-)
I hope you have been well and enjoying these last days of Summer? I've been so busy organizing my mom's 80th birthday party and getting the house ready for company...but I'm enjoying every minute of it:-) xoxo
What a beautiful Church and Statue! I love visiting and taking pictures of different Churches as I travel around!

Have a blessed day dear Ann, HUGS!
Thank you for your nice comment.
Your blog name is St. Nicholas ...
Do you know this Swiss man: Saint Nicholas of Flüe (German: Niklaus von Flüe) (21 March 1417 – 21 March 1487[1]) was a Swiss hermit and ascetic who is the patron saint of Switzerland.
Have a nice weekend
Angela
