These smiling faces of Ugandian children, along with the words of our blessed Lord, just about says everything that needs to be said. But because I love history so much and the history of this beautiful and giving organization is quite amazing...more will be written!
Peter and Sharon Georges were working as missionaries in Uganda in 2003 when they agreed to pay the tuition for two orphans who were living with their grandmother. When they returned to Uganda in 2005 the two children had turned to nine and that soon mushroomed into many more as well as numerous other people with extreme needs. It was not something that Peter and Sharon could ignore. (Please read Our History). Trusting that God would provide, the couple proceeded forward with faith. Their faith was rewarded and the fund is currently supporting 200 children in school and providing assistance to six families! This help is the type that changes lives for the better both in the short term and in the long!
Peter and Sharon Georges chose as their Patron for this project our dear Nicholas of Myra - the patron saint of children.

The goals of the Fund are, in a nutshell, driven by two verses in the Bible; Matthew 25:30 and James 1:27: To care for the least among us and to provide for widows and orphans in their distress.
When St. Nicholas was an older teenager he visited Northern Africa while on his way to the Holy Land (you must continue to read "St. Nicholas and Christmas" to learn all about that life-changing voyage!). Knowing that these children, of the land that he not only visited but himself cared for and healed many, are being cared for and in his name - a name that always magnified the Lord Jesus Christ - would please him no end.

Another wonderful post & so challenging ~ I have to say that as part of my husband's Christmas box this year I have paid to educate a child in Zimbabwee I know he will he will be thrilled & the child also ~ have a wonderful week-end Marie x

My Christmas preparations are pretty much all done now so I can relax a bit and have more time for blogging:-) Thank God for people like Sharon and Peter Georges whose mission in life is to follow in the steps of Jesus and St. Nicholas and help those in need. If everyone could be like them, what a wonderful world this would be:-)

It's so wonderful that two people could change the lives of so many! We can all learn something from them. Thanks for letting us know about the Georges and their caring ways and the children's fund!
DEAREST ANN! Oh it is a comfort to see you! First of all, I love your post, and I am so glad that God loves us when we come to Him like children. I often feel so unmature in my knowledge, but I have plenty of heart!!! I know He must accept that too!
My sweet Ruben has a weird thing going on in his nose and the nurse over the phone yesterday seemed to indicate that it is something that needs to be looked at IMMEDIATELY. However, the poor man is outside trying to use our neighbor's snow blower to dig us out of the 2.5 feet we got last night. HOWEVER, it is now turned to ice and he is rather struggling! But as soon as he is done, we are going to an urgent care facility. Please pray for him? You are ever so kind and YOU BELIEVE!!! WOOOOOO HOOOOOO! How could I doubt it.....YOUR NAME IS IN THE POT! :)

Love your new header. The story you told today is so heart warming. I got to go to Belize on a missionary trip just a few years ago and have adopted a little school there where I taught while there. I was a life changing experience of course. Have a chance to go to Haiti in a few weeks but am just not up to it. Will just send donations and prayers. Blessings to you and yours.
