On a Personal Note: In Loving Memory of Harry, my Dear Dog

Harry
(June 4, 2001 - July 16, 2010)
In Loving Memory of my wonderful dog, Harry...
I didn't post yesterday... It was my "little" dog's time to step off earth and into eternity.
It seems that so many dog's have left the world during the last month. My friend in Canada recently had to say good-bye to her, Willow; my next door neighbor to her, Sissi; and the lady whose name I don't even know but who walked her chihuahua by my house every day to her little love too. And then there are the cats...so many. And now, unexpectedly, my Harry; the joy of our home.
But although my fingers ache to rub Harry's dear and oh, so sweet smelling head and to have him look at me with those bright loving eyes as they ask me if it's time to play yet, I take total comfort in the follow verse from Revelations:
"And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever. (Revelation 5:13 KJV)
In the words of the Apostle Paul, "O death, where is thy sting?...But thanks be to God which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ." (1 Cor 15:55,57)
I know Harry, as one of God's wonderful creatures, is safe and I know that I will be reunited with him again someday as I will with all the others, both two legged and four,  I have loved throughout my journey on earth.
That is one of God's most precious gifts and one all the saints proclaim!
So, yes, Harry... Let's play!
P.S. The best book I have ever read concerning animals and their place in God's Kingdom is Mary Buddemeyer-Porter's WILL I SEE FIDO IN HEAVEN? It is a book I highly recommend to all who have lost an animal they love.

So sad about little Harry...
But it is only sad for those he left behind because, as you said, he is smiling and playing right now... and he won't ever have to stop again!
I've read that book too (the first time was after I lost my kitty 3 years ago) and can't recommend it strongly enough.
Be strong and stay happy... that's what Harry wants, after all!

Yes, it is so easy to see the love that harry had for you in his eyes. What a handsome and charming fellow.
I stopped by to say thank you for your very kind words regarding the recent loss of our Maggie May. I do believe that both Harry and Maggie have found a wonderful pasture where they are romping and playing with all their old departed friends.
Thanks again for visiting Maggie's last earthly post!

Oh, Ann.. Oh my gosh, what a beautiful, beautiful doggum your Harry was, and is! So very noble! We have felt your pain all too often over the past several years. We have lost both our dogs and two of our cats. It never gets easier to lose these true friends, but you are right, the pain is definitely eased by knowing that someday we will all be reunited. Thank you for sending me the direct link to Harry as I was not able to find it on my own. All my best, to you,... Donna

I just read this post about your dear Harry and am so very sorry that he is gone now. We too had to have our former dog, Scamp, put down in 2004 and I will always love him. It's such a hard thing to go through since they are part of the family. I think those who are not pet lovers don't understand that. They give so much to our lives. I know that I too will see Scamp again someday in heaven.

Hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving.

Dorothy
